Paiko privacy policy

Updated 6 October 2026

The short version

Paiko keeps your shop book on your phone. There are no ads, no tracking, and we do not sell data. Paiko never holds or moves money. A payment in Paiko is a record you write, not a transfer.

Who is responsible

For your sign-in and your cloud backup, the data controller is the developer of Paiko. That means we decide how that data is used, and only for what this policy says. The names, phone numbers, and amounts you write about your own customers are your shop's records. You decide what to keep and when to delete it. When you back up, we store that copy for you and use it for nothing else. Questions about your data: support@paiko.app.

What stays on your phone

Your shop profile, clients, items and prices, invoices, quotes, receipts, payments, payment photos, and shop logo are saved in Paiko's private storage on this phone. They are left out of Google backup. Uninstalling Paiko or clearing its storage deletes them.

Cloud backup (only if you sign in)

Signing in is optional. If you sign in with an email code, your email address is kept by our sign-in service so you can come back to your account. When you tap Back up, a copy of your book (shop profile, clients, items, slips, and payments) is saved in our cloud database, and your payment photos and shop logo are uploaded to a private storage folder for your account. Only your account can read your copy and your photos. There are no public links to them. The sign-in service, database, and photo storage are run for us by Supabase, in the European Union (Ireland).

Who helps us run Paiko

Supabase runs sign-in, the cloud database, and photo storage, in Ireland. Resend delivers the email with your sign-in code. Google Play installs and updates the app and, when Paiko Pro is offered, takes the payment: Paiko learns whether your plan is active, never your card or mobile money details. Each of them handles the data only to do that job for us. We do not use advertising or analytics services.

What Paiko staff can see

Paiko staff can see the account email, shop name, country, plan, and usage counts to run the service and answer support, and they do not read invoices.

Why we use your data

We use your email address and backup only to give you the sign-in and backup you asked for. We use a problem report or an email you send only to answer it and fix the app. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

How long we keep it

Your book stays on your phone until you delete it. Your cloud backup and sign-in stay until you delete your cloud account. After that they are removed from the live database straight away, and any copy in our provider's routine backups is overwritten soon after. Emails to support are kept only as long as we need them to help you.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@paiko.app. Most of this you can do yourself: Export everything gives you a full copy, and Delete cloud account removes the cloud copy. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Commission in Ghana, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, the Information Regulator in South Africa, or the ICO in the UK.

Sending slips and reminders

When you share a PDF or message, Paiko hands it to the app you choose, such as WhatsApp or your SMS app. You press send there. Paiko does not send messages on its own. The other app's own privacy policy covers what it does with the message. If you turn on overdue alerts, Paiko asks Android for permission to show notifications and sets them up on this phone. They only reach you, and nothing about them is sent anywhere.

Exporting your book

Backup, then Export everything, makes one ZIP file on this phone with your slips, clients, items, payments, payment photos, and logo. Paiko hands it to the app you choose, such as Drive or Files. It is not uploaded by Paiko. Keep it private: it holds your clients' names and phone numbers.

Problem reports

If something goes wrong in the app, Paiko writes a short note about the error on this phone, with email addresses and long numbers taken out. It is not sent anywhere on its own. If you tap Send report, your email app opens with the note attached, addressed to support@paiko.app, and you choose whether to send it. You can clear the notes in Settings, then About Paiko, then Problem reports.

Camera and photos

Paiko asks for no camera or storage permission. When you add a payment photo or a logo, the phone's own camera or photo picker opens, and only the photo you choose comes back to Paiko.

Internet

Paiko uses the internet only for sign-in and cloud backup, when you ask for them, and for Google Play when you buy or restore Pro. Everything else works offline.

Deleting your data

On the phone: clear Paiko's storage or uninstall the app. In the cloud: open Settings, then About Paiko, then Delete cloud account. This deletes your sign-in, every cloud backup for it, and the backed-up payment photos and logo. You can also email support@paiko.app, or use the delete-account page.

Children

Paiko is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is shown in the app and on this page with a new date.
